Don't stop at the headline about the pussyhat kerfuffle. This is a good discussion to have but don't paint all feminists with one brush. These hats are a symbol. Unfortunately, lots of people don't understand symbol - something my mom used to always say.
And please don't conflate the pink pussyhat with well, an actual one. NO ONE ever said they were equivalent. The hat itself - and the organic creation of said hat in knitting circles, marathons and giveaways as part of the Pussyhar Project - is what this movement is about. Not the color of a hat worn once a year. Please.
But speaking of pink, let's also not forget that their is psychology behind color. choices and preferences. And while pink is considered a "feminine" color - it's often equated with being soft and weak. We are going to change that - a little bit every day - so anyone who truly wants to be part of the change - wear it proudly this weekend Wherever you'll be marching.
